Rotary Volunteers at ‘Day of Caring’

This was the 7th year we have participated in United Way’s annual ‘Day of Caring’ and this year we had two teams.  Team One had four members trimming shrubs and vines and cleaning the grounds at the Federated Church in Sturbridge.  Team Two had five members delivering coffee and donuts in the morning to the 14 teams volunteering for Day of Caring.  Upon returning from deliveries Team 2 then assembled lunches for the 130 volunteers and set out again to deliver them.  Maurice and another volunteer delivered in Sturbridge.  Charles and Marguerite delivered in Southbridge and Bob and Pauline delivered in Charlton.  Two trips to the 14 work sites covers a lot of miles.  Another example of ‘Service Above Self’ as Sturbridge Rotary volunteers in our communities.  Note:  SRC appeared to be the only service club volunteering at this event.
