The Red Cross was founded on the simple idea of neighbors helping neighbors in time of need. Since the Rotary Club of Sturbridge was chartered in 1972, individual members volunteered to donate blood and encouraged the public to participate as well.
Because Rotary has always been committed to community service, the Club started hosting and staffing blood drives in the 1990s. It’s a rewarding experience and this initiative has been duplicated many times throughout the Club’s history.
We are proud to partner with the Red Cross to help them fulfill their mission of ensuring the availability of a safe and reliable blood supply that saves millions of lives each year.
