The Group Study Exchange Team from Venice, Italy and the surrounding towns arrived in Sturbridge for a brief visit. They enjoyed visiting Old Sturbridge Village in the afternoon. In the evening, several members from the Southbridge Rotary and Brookfield Rotary joined us to hear the Team discuss their country and the vocations they are pursuing. District and Club Banners were exchanged and all those present had time to mingle and meet the team. After vocational visits and discussions the following morning, Club members met with the Team for a farewell luncheon before the Team headed off to the District Conference in Marlborough.
Team members included Giuliano Bordigato who is a business consultant and a member of his Rotaract Club. He is also a member of the ‘End Polio Now’ commission for his District. Caterina Boschetti is a marketing and communications specialist in the automotive field. She is president of her Rotaract Club. Philipp Breitenberg is an Agri-entrepreneur focusing on organic farming of kiwi fruit and developing markets for the product. Katia Carron is working in a day care center for very young children and is continuing the pursuit of her specialized studies. The Team members are led by Elisabetta Fabbri who is an accomplished and well-respected architect in Italy. In 2009, she was appointed by the Italian Prime Minister as Government Commissioner for the construction of the New Opera House in Florence and for the restoration of the Uffizi Museum.
