September 2017 and ongoing…
We started working on creating the Community Food Collaborative, a community garden, working through the Rotary Community Corps of Sturbridge and Southbridge. The structure is in place, the vegetables were planted and grew all spring, summer and fall and we are proud to report that in our first growing year (2018) we donated 1,522 pounds of fresh, organic vegetables to the St. John Paul II Food Pantry which serves Sturbridge and Southbridge. The following year (2019) we doubled the size of the garden and donated 3109 pounds. Check the CFC Facebook page (facebook.com/CFCGardens/) and the website (cfcgarden.org) for regular updates. Visit the News Tab on this website to see the progress we are making. Another great Rotary project for Sturbridge and Southbridge!
We will be selling tickets again to win a basket loaded with $1,000 worth of lottery tickets. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to scholarships for Tantasqua seniors pursuing a college education. The drawing will be held during a Rotary meeting in December and the winner will be invited to attend a meeting to claim his/her prize.
Please check back periodically as future events develop.
