As part of our community service commitment 12 Sturbridge Rotarians participated in United Way’s “Day of Caring”. Our project was to finish replacing the Colonial split rail fencing around Rotary Park. Some Rotarians also raked, pruned shrubs, deadheaded the flowers, edged the flower beds and the sidewalk, and started work on creating three new flower beds. We accomplished a lot and the Park looks great.
We had a great day on Monday spending it with four people from England. Past President Mike Billingham of the Stourbridge UK Rotary Club (our sister Club) and his wife, sister, and her husband traveled ‘across the pond’ and we were anxious to host them. We had a full day scheduled for them. Throughout the day different Rotarians spent time with them at a variety of activities. The day ended with a party at the home of one of our members. Any Stourbridge UK Club member is always welcome here to Sturbridge Rotary. Shown here left to right are Past President Mike Billingham with his wife Sue and Mike’s sister Margaret with her husband Tom.
We have just launched one of our fundraisers which generates most of the funds we use for awarding scholarships to seniors at Tantasqua Regional High School. If you’d like to purchase tickets please contact any Sturbridge Rotarian or click the Contact Us tab on this website. We have tickets for you! Get them now before they are all sold.
